My first Christmas

I had a very eventful first Christmas!

I started the morning off in my Christmas stocking and I watched Mommy and Daddy open my presents.

Here is my second outfit of the day. Miss Meg gave me my bib. My Aunt B is holding me.

My cousin Reid came over to meet me. He was very sweet! I can't wait to play with him.
Here is my third outfit of the day. Daddy's Nana gave it to me and Miss Meg gave me my Santa Baby hat.

And here is my last outfit of they day. Daddy's Nana gave me this Baby's first Christmas bib.
What a wonderful Christmas present!

I love my tanning bed!

I am getting ready for summer. This bilirubin bed is not that bad. I love to sleep on it. But I am ready to be held by my family and friends.
Bathtime is lots of fun! I feel much better since Mommy and Daddy finally gave me a bath. I know I will sleep good tonight.
Mommy and Aunt B made Christmas cookies. This is going to be a fun tradition. Mommy made me a monogrammed cookie. I guess I won't be able to eat it this year.
Here I am, all ready for my doctor's appointment. We had to go very early in the morning and it was the day after Christmas, but the doctor was very nice.

Coming home and Santa, too!

We are home! She looked so precious in her outfit made by her Aunt Holly. Once we got home, she changed into her Christmas outfit. Then we went to see Santa!!! She did very well. Hopefully she will sleep at home like she did at the hospital. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Memories

Meg tagged everyone to share some favorite Christmas memories. Sorry it has taken me so long to post them. I wanted to find some pictures on my computer first.
My family often spent Christmas in Hartford, AL with my grandparents. I was always concerned because they did not have a chimney for Santa to come down. But I was assured that Santa would come and he always did!! I received some of my favorite Christmas gifts in Hartford which included a slide, a Barbie Dreamhouse, a Super Nintendo...just to name a few. I loved riding around the town and looking at Christmas lights. Hartford always had a contest for the best decorations. We would not go home until we found all of the winners. My sister and I would sleep with my Aunt Gloria, and let me tell you we did not sleep!! I remember asking her a thousand times "What time is it now?" 3:00am, 3:45 am she would say. We would try our best to wait until 5 or so:) Here are some pictures from Christmas in Hartford.

Christmas in Pensacola was fun too. I remember the first year we spent Christmas in our new house. It was fun finding places for all of the decorations.
When I was in high school and college, Rachael always had a Holiday Party. We enjoyed wonderful food and played Dirty Santa.

My little sister in the sorority (Sally) and I take a pic with Santa.
My sorority sisters and I always had a Christmas party before we left for the holidays.

I knew that I had found a great guy when Brad agreed to go to a Christmas Party with me at the Auburn United Methodist Church. I was an intern with the Children's Minister and I was suppose to bring someone with me to the Christmas Party. I wasn't dating anyone at the time but thought I would ask my good friend Brad. We did not know what was planned for the evening. But he participated in all of the activities. He sang Christmas songs, played games and really impressed the people that I worked with. They told me I should hang on to him...and in a couple weeks we starting dating. I thought this picture was pretty funny. It is one of the first pictures we took together.

Brad and I have shared more Christmas memories since then. We have celebrated Christmas in Pensacola and Birmingham every year. We have attended Christmas Eve services at our church. I would say putting up the Christmas tree always brings out the best in us. We can never seem to agree that it is straight!!

We are very blessed to celebrate Christmas with our families every year. Last year was a tough Christmas. I know that God was with us and will always be with us. He has shown his light throughout 2008. We are looking forward to meeting his miracle very soon. I hope that everyone remembers this Christmas to look around them see how blessed they are!

37 weeks and Pathfinders Baby Shower

We are officially full term! Yeah! I was ready on Friday to stay at the hospital and have Shelby...but the doc didn't agree! I have started the steroids so hopefully they will increase my platelets. The plan right now is to go in on Tuesday, Dec 23 to check my platelets. If they are above 100 thousand then we will induce!!! If they have not risen, then we will go back the next Monday (12/29) and check again. My doctor has scheduled a c-section for Tuesday, December 30th if my platelets are not cooperating. This date is very special because it was my granddaddy's bday. And Shelby is named after him. So we will see:)

The Pathfinders threw us shower at Eve and Brian's house. We have truly been blessed with wonderful gifts for Shelby.

Her room is ready!

Now all we need is Snuggle Bug. I have my next dr. appt on Friday. We are going to start steroids to increase my platelets. Hopefully this will work and I will be induced the week of Christmas!! I can definitely say all I want for Christmas is a healthy baby girl:)

Julie and her little man, Jackson came to visit.Kelly and I got to catch up at breakfast. We had a great last pre-baby trip. I can't wait to bring Shelby to Pcola. Smiling Shelby

She is getting ready for her photo shoots! Our 31 week appointment went well. She is growing and head down. We will continue to go weekly from now on. They are going to check my fluid and do a non-stress test at each visit. She is around 3 pounds 11 ounces. My platelet count is still going down. So please pray that it will rise so I can have an epidural!!
