Christmas Memories

Meg tagged everyone to share some favorite Christmas memories. Sorry it has taken me so long to post them. I wanted to find some pictures on my computer first.
My family often spent Christmas in Hartford, AL with my grandparents. I was always concerned because they did not have a chimney for Santa to come down. But I was assured that Santa would come and he always did!! I received some of my favorite Christmas gifts in Hartford which included a slide, a Barbie Dreamhouse, a Super Nintendo...just to name a few. I loved riding around the town and looking at Christmas lights. Hartford always had a contest for the best decorations. We would not go home until we found all of the winners. My sister and I would sleep with my Aunt Gloria, and let me tell you we did not sleep!! I remember asking her a thousand times "What time is it now?" 3:00am, 3:45 am she would say. We would try our best to wait until 5 or so:) Here are some pictures from Christmas in Hartford.

Christmas in Pensacola was fun too. I remember the first year we spent Christmas in our new house. It was fun finding places for all of the decorations.
When I was in high school and college, Rachael always had a Holiday Party. We enjoyed wonderful food and played Dirty Santa.

My little sister in the sorority (Sally) and I take a pic with Santa.
My sorority sisters and I always had a Christmas party before we left for the holidays.

I knew that I had found a great guy when Brad agreed to go to a Christmas Party with me at the Auburn United Methodist Church. I was an intern with the Children's Minister and I was suppose to bring someone with me to the Christmas Party. I wasn't dating anyone at the time but thought I would ask my good friend Brad. We did not know what was planned for the evening. But he participated in all of the activities. He sang Christmas songs, played games and really impressed the people that I worked with. They told me I should hang on to him...and in a couple weeks we starting dating. I thought this picture was pretty funny. It is one of the first pictures we took together.

Brad and I have shared more Christmas memories since then. We have celebrated Christmas in Pensacola and Birmingham every year. We have attended Christmas Eve services at our church. I would say putting up the Christmas tree always brings out the best in us. We can never seem to agree that it is straight!!

We are very blessed to celebrate Christmas with our families every year. Last year was a tough Christmas. I know that God was with us and will always be with us. He has shown his light throughout 2008. We are looking forward to meeting his miracle very soon. I hope that everyone remembers this Christmas to look around them see how blessed they are!
